The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, is the world’s leading and largest professional body of Management Accountants, with 195,000 members and students operating in 176 countries, working at the heart of business.

CIMA members and students work in industry, commerce and not-for-profit organisations. CIMA members are automatically entitled to use the global designation Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).

The CGMA designation was established under a joint venture with CIMA’s US counterparts, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) providing global mobility and internationally recognised credentials for our members.

What Qualifications and Courses

CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting

The CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting offers a solid grounding in the basics of management accounting, financial accounting and business. It combines five modules of study and exams can be sat at any time of the year. This is a qualification in its own right and is a stepping stone to the CIMA Professional Qualification.

CIMA Professional Qualification

This CIMA Professional Qualification syllabus is built on three specific learning pillars: Enterprise, Performance and Financial. There are four distinct levels within the qualification: operational, management, strategic and professional competence, with interim qualifications awarded at each level. The CIMA qualification trains you to become a become a financially qualified business leader.

Masters gateway entry route to CIMA

MBA and Masters in Accounting holders can take an accelerated route to the CIMA Professional Qualification through the master gateway initiative. On successful completion of the gateway exam, 11 exemptions are awarded and you will be eligible to start at CIMA's strategic level exams.
